REMASTERED — Call for Artists

Old records. New art. Your remix.

KNK Contemporary is calling artists to transform vinyl records into one-of-a-kind works of art for REMASTERED.

Use an old record as your canvas—paint directly onto it, alter it, or attach your artwork to the record. The subject matter is completely up to you. Make it strange, colorful, dark, playful, abstract, nostalgic, or entirely your own.

Submission Details

• $5 entry fee

• Submit up to 3 records

• Artists provide the records

• Paint directly on the vinyl or attach your artwork to it

• D-rings will be added to the backs for hanging

• All subject matter and mediums are welcome

• All work will be priced at $200

• Work must fit inside a 12 inch album size vinyl record

Important Dates

Submission Deadline: Friday, October 23 at midnight

Artist Notification: Monday, October 26th

Artwork Drop-Off: Sunday, Nov.1st 1-6 pm & Monday, Nov. 2nd 1-6 pm at KnK Contemporary 1049 Sutter St. SF

Opening Reception: Thursday, November 5th 6-9 pm

(During the Tenderloin Artwalk)

Remastered Exhibition Dates:

Thursday Nov. 5th 2026 to Jan. 3rd 2027

Artwork Pick Up: 

Monday Jan 4th & Tuesday Jan. 5th 1-6pm

Drop the needle. Make some art.

Submission Fee: $5

(artist provides the record, check your old records, grab one from a thrift shop, etc.)

All artists that have been selected will have to sign a gallery contract (50/50 standard split), which will be emailed with your acceptance email.

*All work must be ‘For Sale’

*If special arrangements need to be made for physical drop-off, please email me at info@knkcontemporary.com

*If you are shipping your work, please email me at info@knkcontemporary.com beforehand so I may give you the address we collect our mail. Please include a return shipping label.

You may submit 3 pieces for review.

Work must fit inside a 12 inch album size vinyl record

No AI (it’s not a medium)

You must label image files to be considered
